This picture was made shortly before the start of the 1935 Indy 500. The only female in the group was a young women, Amelia Earhart, who gained notoriety from her long distance flying accomplishments. She was darling of America who disappeared a few short years later flying over the pacific. The photograph show the "brickyard" when it was the Brickyard.
